Position Overview
We are currently hiring for the following role:
- In-Home Tutors: Grade 9 - All subjects (Sudbury, ON)
Compensation:
This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys individualized instruction, differentiated teaching, and building strong relationships with learners and families.
Key Responsibilities
As a Teacher-Tutor at Goode Learning, you will:
- Deliver one-on-one instruction in-person tailored to each student’s learning profile
- Use assessment-informed strategies to plan lessons and monitor progress
- Adapt teaching to support individual learning needs and strengths
- Support students in literacy, numeracy, and subject-specific areas
- Communicate student progress with the internal team
- Build trusting relationships with families, helping them understand and support their child’s learning journey
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
- (Certification must be approved with no terms or conditions; applications in progress will not be considered) – Pre-Service teachers in their second year will also be considered.
- 1–2+ years of classroom teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum and current educational pedagogy
- Experience working with diverse learners and varying learning profiles
- Proven ability to apply differentiated instruction strategies
- Comfort using educational technology tools (e.g., Google Classroom, digital learning platforms)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A growth mindset, flexibility, and enthusiasm for supporting student success

- Support student learning in Math and Science at the high school level, with possible support in other subjects.
- Develop creative and engaging lesson plans that meet individual learning needs.
- Track student progress and maintain clear documentation using educational technology tools (e.g., Google Classroom, online journals, learning apps).
- Collaborate with the Goode Learning team and maintain open communication regarding student progress and goals.
- Foster a supportive, encouraging learning environment that builds confidence and academic independence.
